Description
St. Francis Hospital is hiring for a PRN RN Clinical Coordinator to cover OVERNIGHT shifts in the Emergency Department.
This will be a PRN position working 7p to 7a based on your availability and department needs.
Under the direction of the department director, the Clinical Coordinator has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
Essential Functions
- Identifies existing and potential problems, and seeks or implements appropriate solutions.
- Performs plan of care interventions. Documents patient care given.
- Provides nursing care through planning, organizing, and facilitating the nursing function for assigned patients.
- Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions to physicians, patients, and families.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Demonstrates clinical competence in relevant area of nursing practice.
- Demonstrates leadership ability and potential managerial competency, including effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, motivation, and organizational skills.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care, aligning with hospital standards.
- Monitors and maintains compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies for patient services, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collaborates with the director/manager to oversee the unit's PI program, monitoring and evaluating care quality.
- Handles conflicts with patients, families, physicians, staff, visitors, and community resources effectively, referring unresolved issues to management.
- Responsible for fiscal management of the unit within budget guidelines in collaboration with the director.
- Ensures operational excellence and delivery of quality care/services per policies and standards.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under stress and take appropriate action.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
- Handle with Care Certification within 6 months.
Licenses
- Valid RN license in Georgia or multistate license.
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of clinical nursing experience in a direct patient care setting; 5 years preferred.
