Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN Clinic - OB GYN for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position in the outpatient clinic. The salary range is $46.27 – $69.41 per hour, with hiring bonus possibly available.

The RN will provide professional nursing care in the clinic setting, promote collaboration among care teams, and ensure compliance with practice standards. Experience in obstetrics and licensure in the state are required.

Qualifications

  • Accredited School of Nursing required.
  • 1 year preferred: RN experience.
  • Obstetric experience (inpatient or outpatient) required.
  • RN license in state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs in clinic setting.
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record.
  • Promote professional development and adherence to policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety and infection prevention programs.
  • Screen and triage patient inquiries regarding medical care, prescriptions and referrals.

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN Clinic - OB GYN for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $46.27 – $69.41. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Hiring Bonus may be available! Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.

Essential Functions
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. This includes assessing patient’s condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
  • Demonstrates competence in making professional judgements pertaining to patient care.
  • May screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk in inquiries concerning their medical care, prescription refills and insurance authorizations and referrals.
  • Evaluates and responds appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
  • Accredited School of Nursing Required
Experience
  • 1 year Preferred: experience as a registered nurse
  • Obstetric experience (inpatient or outpatient) required.
Credentials
  • Required: Registered Nurse in state of practice and
  • Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support
Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications (Required)
  • Effective prioritization skills (Required)
  • Ability to provide health education to patients, staff and community (Required)
  • Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required)
Working Conditions
Lifting
  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
  • Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
  • Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
  • Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
  • Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
