The RN Clinic, Allergy provides comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving allergy evaluation, treatment, and follow-up services within the clinic setting. This role supports providers by conducting patient assessments, administering treatments, preparing care plans, and monitoring patient responses to allergy testing and immunotherapy. Working collaboratively with physicians and clinic team members, the RN helps ensure care is delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. The position functions within a supportive, specialty-focused clinic environment where communication and teamwork are essential to effective care delivery. By providing patient education, coordinating services, and supporting efficient clinic operations, the RN Clinic, Allergy contributes to positive patient outcomes and a high-quality specialty care experience.
The RN Clinic, Allergy frequently stands, walks, and moves within exam rooms and clinic areas to assist patients, perform testing, and administer treatments. The role may involve lifting or positioning patients, bending, reaching, and managing medical equipment or supplies. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for performing injections, monitoring patient responses, and accurately documenting care.
Work is performed in an outpatient specialty clinic with exposure to clinical equipment, medications, and potential allergens used in testing and immunotherapy. The role requires adherence to PPE use, infection-prevention practices, and safety protocols, especially when managing patients with heightened risk for allergic reactions. The RN may travel to satellite sites and adapt to varying clinic volumes and workflow demands.
