Job summary

Avera Heart Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to support cardiology services in clinic, outreach, and hospital settings. You will document histories, meds, and histories, and help implement the physician’s plan of care.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license applicable to SD/IA/MN and possess BLS and ACLS certifications, with 2+ years in critical care preferred. Excellent teamwork and schedule flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Two years of critical care experience is preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the states of SD, IA, and MN as required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cardiologists and surgeons in the clinic, outreach, and hospital setting.
• Obtain and document the initial history of present illness, past medical history, and current medications prior to the physician seeing the patient.
• Implement and carry out the plan of care established by the physician either through delegation to the appropriate departments or completing the plan themselves.
• Work schedule includes 4-10 hour shifts Monday–Friday; variable hours according to MD schedule.

Current licensure of registered nursing in the states of South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota as required . Current BLS and ACLS certification
