Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Circulating Nurse to join our surgical teams.

The circulating nurse will prepare the OR, maintain sterility, position patients, verify patient data and surgical sites, document procedures, and coordinate with anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety throughout cases. The ideal candidate holds an RN license with ACLS and BLS, 1–2 years OR experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with EHR systems.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure is required.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • 1–2 years of circulating nursing experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
  • Assist in positioning the patient safely before surgery.
  • Verify patient information and surgical site before procedure begins.
  • Document all aspects of the surgical procedure in the chart.
  • Coordinate with anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety.
  • Manage the flow of the operating room and anticipate team needs.
  • Handle specimens and ensure proper labeling and documentation.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Familiarity with regional and general anesthesia techniques
