Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to lead childbirth education sessions, using a mix of teaching methods to prepare families for birth and infant care.

You will deliver in-person and virtual classes, ensure content is accurate and evidence-based, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet the diverse needs of participants in the Tampa area. RN licensure and CPR/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• RN with current license; 1+ years teaching childbirth education.
• Knowledge of newborn care, breastfeeding, infant CPR and safe sleep.
• Proficient with PowerPoint and delivering both virtual and in-person classes.
• Familiar with Blackthorn scheduling system and class coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate childbirth education sessions using varied teaching methods.
• Ensure content is evidence-based and tailored to diverse families.
• Meet educational needs and maintain participant engagement and attendance.
• Collaborate with supervisor and staff, maintaining confidentiality and supplies.

Job Description

Provides accurate and consistent information to participants regarding childbirth education. Uses various teaching techniques related to childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, infant care, maternal/infant support, and Safe Sleep practices. Discusses Infant Safe Sleep guidelines in all classes. Ensures class content is accurate and evidence-based. Meets the educational needs of participants. Educates the community about childbirth education. Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at meetings and staff development programs. Adheres to hospital confidentiality policy. Keeps supplies clean and orderly. Other duties as assigned. Ensures all educational sessions are engaging, informative, and tailored to meet the needs of diverse families. Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work with others. Works independently with supervisor support.
