Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a RN for Child/Adolescent Mental Health in Roanoke, VA. The role supports a weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 7pm–7am) at CRMH Rehab, with a $25K sign-on for experienced RNs or $15K for new grads.

The RN provides individualized patient care, conducts age-appropriate assessments, collaborates with families and an interdisciplinary team, and maintains EMR documentation while upholding confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on work area.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care and coordinate care for patients of all ages.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Document age-specific assessments to support care plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administer treatments and medications and document in EMR.
• Support education needs and participate in performance improvement initiatives.

This position is located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) Rehab in Roanoke, VA. This position is full time, working weekends: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 7pm-7am.

The RN

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
• Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.

What We Require:

Education:

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.

Experience:

None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support:

AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications:

Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
