Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is looking for an RN Charge to provide clinical leadership in the Skilled Nursing Unit in Temple, TX. This full-time position requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week on the day shift.

The RN Charge will coordinate patient care, mentor nursing staff, and ensure adherence to healthcare standards. Candidates should have a current Texas RN license and 3 years of clinical experience. Benefits include immediate health benefits and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• 3 years of clinical experience required.
• Previous experience in Skilled Nursing, MS acute care, or long-term acute care strongly preferred.
• Prior charge nurse or leadership experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.

• Serve as the Charge Nurse for the Skilled Nursing Unit, providing clinical leadership.
• Coordinate patient care and patient flow while ensuring safe staffing.
• Support, mentor, and guide nursing staff.

• Monitor patient conditions and address clinical concerns.

Unit Details

• Department: Skilled Nursing Unit, Wound Care and RT on site
• Unit Size: 23 beds, 45 staff members
• Nurse‑to‑Patient Ratio: 5:1

Position Details

• Status: Full‑Time
• Schedule: Day Shift, (3) 12‑hour shifts per week, 6A‑6P

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Charge Nurse for the Skilled Nursing Unit, providing clinical leadership and operational oversight during assigned shifts
• Coordinate patient care and patient flow while ensuring safe staffing and appropriate resource utilization
• Support, mentor, and guide nursing staff, promoting teamwork and professional development
• Collaborate closely with physicians, case management, therapy services, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards
• Monitor patient conditions, address clinical concerns, and elevate issues as needed
• Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive unit culture

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
