Our 25-bed Short Stay Unit at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) serves patients who require observation or short-term care following surgery or medical events. Known for its fast-paced environment, the unit has a rapid patient turnover, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1. We conduct thorough assessments every 12 hours and utilize streamlined documentation practices to enhance patient care.
The Charge Nurse is responsible for unit and shift leadership: oversight & planning, directing & mentoring, staff assignments, scheduling, providing and evaluating nursing care using critical thinking, professional judgment and leadership skills.
