Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Clinical Charge Nurse to lead patient care in a high‑acuity setting. You assess patient needs, plan care, delegate tasks and ensure therapeutic orders are carried out promptly.

You evaluate patient responses and progress toward outcomes, coordinate care across disciplines, and help patients and staff identify problems and explore options and alternatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Alabama license required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire required.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
• Previous nursing experience in a critical care setting with supervisory/management ability required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.

Overview

The Clinical Charge Nurse identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning and delegating care based on patient needs. Executes therapeutic physician orders and therapeutic nursing interventions. Evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress towards patient outcomes. Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Helps patients and/or staff identify problems and explores with them the alternative choices and outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:Education: High School Diploma or GED required.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Alabama license required.BLS within 90 days of hire required.ACLS certification within 90 days of hire required.Experience: Previous nursing experience in a critical care setting with successful demonstration of supervisory and/or management ability required.Additional Skills/Abilities: Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
