Job summary

Valley Hope of Boonville is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the night shift to lead and mentor our nursing team. The role focuses on supervision, care coordination, and maintaining high-quality treatment documentation for patients in recovery.

You will collaborate with the Nursing Director to manage emergencies, support case management, and drive performance improvement across the facility. RN licensure and CPR certification are required, with Missouri residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing is required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
• Four (4) plus years of clinical nursing care work experience.
• Four (4) plus years of progressive work and relevant industry experience including one (1) plus years of charge-nurse experience.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Nursing Director in supervising nursing staff including orientation and training, monitoring the quality of treatment documents, and providing mentoring for staff development.
• Provides support to the Nursing Director for medical care including case management and inpatient medical care treatment services.
• Assists with emergencies and ensures proper treatment following policies for medical emergencies (e.g., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens).
• Participates in facility performance improvement activities with emphasis on medical services and nursing care quality.
• Assists with the security, control, and administration of drugs, medications, treatments, and tests as allowed by law.
• Assists the Nursing Director in building skills and competencies of nursing staff to meet required standards.

Our nurse residency program gives you the tools you need to be successful as nurse at Valley Hope. Our nurses specialize in making patients feel loved from the moment they walk in the door by providing compassionate medical care, key to the short and long-term success of patients in recovery. Nurses typically work with patients from admission to discharge, providing supportive medical care over 30-45 days of treatment, offering a unique treatment approach, and rewarding work experience with hands on help for patients to heal and recover in real time.

Valley Hope of Boonville, located just outside of Columbia off I-70, provides Missouri with residential and outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment services.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
• Four (4) plus years of clinical nursing care work experience.
• Four (4) plus years of progressive work and relevant industry experience including one (1) plus years of charge-nurse experience.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

COMPENSATION:

• Starting hourly rate: $40 - $44.00/hr (based on education and experience)

Shift Differential:

• Weekday Night Shift: $4.25/hr

JOB SUMMARY:

• Assists the Nursing Director in supervising nursing staff including orientation and training, monitoring the quality of treatment documents, providing support during the annual review/goal setting process, as well as providing routine performance feedback and mentoring in support of staff development.
• Provides support to the Nursing Director as needed for medical care including case management and inpatient medical care treatment services.
• Provides assistance as needed to ensure proper and adequate treatment provided during emergencies; follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.)
• Participates in facility performance improvement activities with an emphasis on medical services and improving nursing care quality. Collaborates with facility management staff to identify and implement improvement activities across the facility.
• Assists with the security, control, and administration of drugs, medications, treatments, and tests as allowed by law.
• Assists the Nursing Director in building the skills and competencies of the nursing staff as needed to meet minimum requirements as specified by customary standards of nursing practice, external accrediting agency guidelines, and internal organizational guidelines.
