Job summary

Calhoun County Medical Care Facility (CCMCF) seeks an RN Charge Nurse to lead the nursing team and ensure high-quality patient care in a busy clinical setting. You will oversee staff, coordinate care, and serve as a liaison among nurses, physicians, and other professionals.

In this role you will ensure regulatory compliance, optimize resources, mentor staff, and drive continuity of care to improve patient outcomes through strong clinical leadership.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields is a plus, but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership or charge nurse experience is highly desirable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the treatment of assigned residents.
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing activities to ensure optimal patient care and staff performance.
  • Monitor patient conditions and intervene as necessary to address changes or emergencies.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct shift reports and facilitate effective communication during handoffs.
