Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland is seeking an RN – Cellular Therapeutics to join a cutting-edge oncology nursing unit focused on cell-based therapies, including bispecific approaches, in a fast-growing specialty at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

You will provide complex clinical care across treatment, preparation, administration and monitoring, while developing long-term relationships with patients and families in a demanding, high-tech environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • One year of current acute care RN experience.
  • Will consider military RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.

Job Details

Join a new, specialized area of oncology nursing at the forefront of advanced cancer care. The Cellular Therapeutics Unit is a rapidly growing specialty focused on innovative treatments that use a patient’s own cells or specially prepared cells as part of their care.

Nurses in this specialty provide complex clinical care throughout the treatment process, including preparation, administration, and monitoring of highly advanced therapies. The unit also focuses on bispecific therapies, including ready-to-administer treatments designed to target a patient’s immune T-cells and cancer cells.

These emerging treatments are used for patients with blood cancers and other oncology diagnoses, as well as other complex diseases as new therapies continue to expand. Nurses bring specialized knowledge andexpertisewhile providing education, support, and compassionate care throughout each patient’s treatment journey.

The role also offers the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and families while being part of acutting-edgearea of oncology nursing.

A caregiver in this position worksday/night rotations, from 7:00am—7:30pm and 7:00pm—7:30am. Every other weekend and holiday rotations required.
