Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a caregiver in a rapidly growing Cellular Therapeutics Unit focused on innovative cell-based cancer therapies. The role involves direct nursing care, medication administration, and coordinating discharge planning in a cutting-edge oncology setting.

You will educate patients and families and contribute to long-term therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Minimum RN licensure, BLS, and one year of acute care experience are required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross
  • One year of acute care RN experience
  • Military RN experience considered

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.

Job description

Join a new, specialized area of oncology nursing at the forefront of advanced cancer care. The Cellular Therapeutics Unit is a rapidly growing specialty focused on innovative treatments that use a patient’s own cells or specially prepared cells as part of their care.

Nurses in this specialty provide complex clinical care throughout the treatment process, including preparation, administration, and monitoring of highly advanced therapies. The unit also focuses on bispecific therapies, including ready-to-administer treatments designed to target a patient’s immune T-cells and cancer cells.

These emerging treatments are used for patients with blood cancers and other oncology diagnoses, as well as other complex diseases as new therapies continue to expand. Nurses bring specialized knowledge and expertise while providing education, support, and compassionate care throughout each patient’s treatment journey.

The role also offers the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and families while being part of a cutting-edge area of oncology nursing.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotations, from 7:00am-7:30pm and 7:00pm-7:30am. Every other weekend and holiday rotations required.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience
  • Will consider military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Cancer experience
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
