Job summary

Denver Health is seeking a CDI Educator to enhance clinical documentation integrity across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. You will educate the CDI team and providers, conduct audits, and support new projects to ensure accurate documentation and compliant coding.

The role requires a nursing background with 7-9 years of experience, including CDI or coding experience, and a strong ability to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN license and be in good standing.
• 7-9 years of nursing experience; 2+ years in acute care.
• 1-3 years in CDI, clinical coding, DRG coordination, or Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
• 1-3 years of education or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex clinical documentation reviews for accuracy and compliance.
• Draft and submit provider queries to clarify documentation.
• Develop and deliver formal CDI orientation and ongoing education.
• Establish internal auditing processes to validate query compliance.
• Educate providers, coders, and CDI staff on clinical documentation concepts.
• Collaborate with Revenue Integrity, Compliance, HIM, and other departments.
• Inform on new technology projects impacting CDI workflows.
