Job summary

Conifer Health Solutions is seeking a CDI Specialist to review medical records and improve physician documentation for accurate MS-DRG assignment, severity of illness, and risk of mortality. The role involves collaborating with care teams and educating staff on documentation guidelines.

Ideal candidates have nursing or medical degrees with CDI experience and knowledge of coding guidelines to support inpatient documentation integrity and auditing processes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Nursing program, BSN, or graduate program; OR
• Graduate from Medical Doctor and/or foreign medical doctor program
• Zero to two years CDI experience; two plus years nursing or provider experience in relevant areas

Responsibilities

• Review medical records within 24-48 hours of admission to ensure accurate MS-DRG assignment, LOS, and care complexity.
• Formulate physician queries to obtain missing or unclear documentation.
• Educate care team on documentation guidelines and CDI processes; support provider education and education series.
