Job Description

Essential Functions:

  1. Interacts professionally with co-workers, patients, their families or care partners, and other staff, consistent with Jefferson’s values.
  2. Integrates evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and patient and family preferences, including cultural beliefs, to deliver optimal healthcare.
  3. Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs and priorities, providing education that is useful, understandable, and affirming.
  4. Minimizes risk of harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and personal performance standards.
  5. Utilizes information technology for communication, knowledge management, error mitigation, and ethical decision-making support.
  6. Uses data to monitor care outcomes and employs quality improvement methods to enhance patient safety and care quality.
  7. Works effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
  8. Recognizes patients and their families or care partners as integral to providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care, respecting their personal preferences and cultural values.
  9. Creates an inclusive environment, demonstrating problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  10. Shows a commitment to ongoing professional development and acts as a primary preceptor for relevant staff members.
  11. Participates actively in hospital and practice setting committees, including those focused on safety and quality improvement.
