Job summary

Northwell Health in Manhasset, NY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide age-appropriate care using the nursing process. You will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians and the health team to coordinate procedures and treatments.

The role requires leadership in directing the patient care unit team, delivering safe treatments, documenting progress, and participating in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; BSN program enrollment within 2 years and BSN degree within 5 years of job entry date.
• Current NY Registered Nurse license; specialized certifications as needed (per position).

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interviews, reviews charts, assesses GI, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal and neurological status; determines mobility, sensory deficits and pain levels; communicates health status and care plan.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Demonstrates leadership in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the unit team.
• Administers prescribed treatments and medications safely and accurately; documents patient conditions and responses.
• Maintains thorough documentation and communicates with patients and families; participates in discharge planning and referrals.
