Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks a capable Registered Nurse to deliver age-focused patient care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with physicians and the health team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, directing care activities and ensuring safe, effective treatments.

The role requires at least an RN license in NY, an approved nursing degree, and BLS certification; additional certifications may be required depending on unit and patient population.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Current NY Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
• BLS certification is required; other certs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s physiologic health status.
• Assesses psychosocial health status and coping needs.
• Identifies patient outcomes and develops care plans.
• Formulates and coordinates the plan of care with the health team.
• Implements the plan of care and ensures safety.
• Maintains documentation and communicates care progress.
• Collaborates with physicians and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Performs skin care and decubitus care per protocol.
• Provides discharge planning and patient education.

Education

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Associate’s Degree in Nursing

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State

BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed
