Job summary

AdventHealth Ocala, FL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for part-time, 2x12-hour day shifts. You will assess patients, create care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and educate patients and families. You will coordinate with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes and document thoroughly in the EMR.

Requires Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), Florida RN license, BLS, NIHSS, and 2+ years acute care experience. EPIC is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Critical care experience required or defined by unit complexity.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based systems and EMR usage.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced unit.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and patient-focused approach.
  • Team-player with a respectful, compassionate manner.
  • Knowledge of ECG and stroke care standards is a plus.

Job Description

Schedule: Part Time - 2 12-hour shifts Shift: Days (6:45AM - 7:15PM)

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • * Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

Education
