RN - Cardiac Telemetry - MedSurg FT Nights (36 hours per week.)

This role is full-time nights in our Cardiac Telemetry unit at Cobb Hospital. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible.

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, safe patient care for patients, families, and significant others. They work in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and aligned with the Wellstar Values.

All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the standards outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association's Code of Ethics. They are expected to advocate for patients, adhere to policies and procedures, and support service excellence.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice and critical thinking, ensuring individualized care.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects cultural diversity and patient-specific characteristics.
  • Partner with patients and significant others, utilizing methods like bedside reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient education to keep them informed and involved in care planning.
  • Practice according to current clinical standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Coordinate safe, quality care and document appropriately, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by practicing responsibly and supporting recruitment and retention.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and support shared governance.

Professional Development and Initiative

  • Complete required competency assessments and mandatory education.
  • Serve as preceptor or mentor to promote workforce development and a healthy work environment.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research

  • Promote evidence-based practice, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Engage in data collection and clinical inquiry to improve practice.

Resources and Support

  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum.
  • Contribute to protocol development and resource management.

Other duties as assigned and compliance with all system policies and standards.

Minimum Education

  • Associates or Bachelors in Nursing (Bachelors preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (single-state or multi-state compact).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience

  • Less than 1 year of clinical nursing experience required; new graduates with approved clinical hours are eligible.
