Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Sachse, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for unit-based care on a PRN basis, days only, with no weekends or holidays and shifts from 7am to 6pm. You will work with the care team to deliver patient-centered care and apply the nursing process to assess needs and develop care plans.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of ER or ICU experience, a current RN license, and ACLS, BLS and EKG certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year ER or ICU experience.
• Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS, BLS and EKG certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assess patient needs, create and modify care plans.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

• Prioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.
• Observe indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.
• Create a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Build relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.
• Facilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.
• Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.

Key Success Factors

• Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.
• Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
• Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
• Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
• Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.
