Job summary

Endeavor Health Careers is seeking a Registered Nurse for Cardiac Imaging in Bannockburn with site rotation. Full-time hours include 7:00-3:30, 7:30-4:00, or 8:00-4:30, with travel across Highland Park, Gurnee and Glenview. Must be able to rotate sites and participate in one Saturday on-call monthly.

Required: Nursing Bachelor’s Degree preferred, BLS and ACLS certifications, and Cardiac Imaging experience. Strong critical thinking and stress testing skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in Cardiac Imaging.
• Solid critical thinking and stress testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress testing.
• Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes and revises as needed.
• Provide patient assessment and collect health data from patient, family and other health care providers.
• Communicate plan of care to patient and family, and to physician and care team.
• Educate patient and family based on learning needs and cultural background.
• Document health data, interventions and communications.
• Contribute to professional development of peers and staff; support research and evidence-based practice.
• Assist with injection of contrast, venipuncture, 02 therapy, and IV management as needed.

Evaluates patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.* Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .* Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.* Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.* Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues.* Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.* Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support* Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.* Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities.
