Description
Join Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital (BHVH) in Dallas as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac ICU and be part of something better!
- Experience & Qualifications:
- 2 years ICU experience required (cardiac ICU preferred)
- BSN preferred
- National Certification preferred (CVN, CCRN, etc.)
- Minimum of 1-year recent, full-time ICU RN experience required
- Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Schedule & Patient Population:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7PM-7AM, rotating weekends
- Patient population includes Post Cardiology Interventional, Post Vascular Surgical/Interventional, Advanced Heart Failure
- Unit features true Cardiac ICU with CRRT, Impella, Swan, AIBP, etc. (no open hearts, CABG, or ECMO)
- All nurses must be comfortable caring for both ICU and Telemetry patients
- Patient ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:4 Telemetry
- Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and create care plans
- Recognize health issues, prioritize needs, and evaluate responses
- Educate patients, families, and staff to empower healthcare decisions
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop care plans
- Delegate tasks appropriately and follow up diligently
- Utilize problem-solving strategies and recognize limitations to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Contribute to team development and community service
- Skills & Attributes:
- Deep understanding of nursing standards, procedures, and laws
- Proficiency in medical terminology and medication management
- Respect for ethics and patient privacy
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Positive social skills and cultural competence
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, EMR, email, scheduling systems)
