Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Cardiac ICU RN for full-time night shifts in Illinois. You will apply the nursing process within Mercy's framework, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

The role requires a nursing degree (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) and an active RN license in Illinois or a compact state, with BLS and unit-specific certifications as needed. This is a demanding, rewarding position in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in Illinois or compact licensure.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC and other unit-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality.
• Maintain professional accountability for care of assigned patients.
• Support a safe and healing environment in the Cardiac ICU during night shifts.

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

• Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.
