Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Cardiac Cath Registered Nurses provide clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. We offer comprehensive cardiology services with emphasis on invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures in the catheterization lab. We focus on early detection and treatment of heart disease using advanced technology for accurate and quick results. Join our supportive team that values patient care as much as you do.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
• Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance, incorporating patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
• Supervise invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Associates Degree required at hire; Bachelors Degree required within 24 months of hire into an RN position if hired after 6/1/12.
• Current RN licensure in the State of TX or a compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS required within 1 year of hire or transfer into position, issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital within the last 3 years.
• Experience in Cath Lab and/or working with cardiac patients is highly preferred.
