Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an experienced RN for the Cardiac Cath Lab at Medical City Fort Worth to provide holistic, patient-centered cardiovascular care. Under supervision, you will assess patients, plan and implement care, and educate families while ensuring adherence to policies and best practices.

You will supervise invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures, read EKGs, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes for CAD, CHF, MI, and other cardiac conditions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
  • Ability to read EKG monitors.
  • Current RN license by the State of Texas or from a compact state if your residence is in that state.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • BSN degree or enrollment in BSN program within 1 year of hire.
  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care setting.
  • 1-2 years ICU/CCU critical care experience.
  • Ability to read arrhythmias.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and resources.
  • Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff within the RN scope of practice.
  • Provide education and emotional support and include patient/family teaching in all nursing practices.
  • Supervise invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures with adherence to aseptic technique.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the supervision of the director or designee, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to identified needs. The registered nurse assumes accountability for the care of Cardiac Cath Lab patients. All functions will be performed in accordance with the standards, practice acts, and licensure in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization. Employee will recognize the population specific needs of the CAD, CHF, PVD, MI, UA and Angina patients and apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors to meet those needs when performing patient care activities.

What You Will Do in This Role
  • You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.

  • You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.

What qualifications you will need

  • Current BCLS certification required

  • Current Specialty certification preferred
  • BSN degree or enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire
  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care setting
  • 1-2 years ICU/CCU critical care experience
  • Ability to read arrhythmias
