Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated RN to join the Bridge to Higher Acuity II Program, transitioning patients from PCU to ICU on night shifts. This role emphasizes advanced skills for high-acuity care in a supportive, mentorship-rich environment.

You will work within Progressive Care Units, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to build confidence for a potential ICU transition, while maintaining patient safety and quality care throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN/MSN required or ADN with upgrade within 5 years.
• Licensure: Nebraska RN license or compact license, BLS/ACLS required per unit.
• Experience: varied nursing roles in PCU/ICU settings, telemetry and critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing care and ensure patient comfort.
• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments and discharge planning.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans in collaboration with the team.
• Teach patients and families about care plans and health management.
• CommunicateSBAR reports during shift changes and handoffs.
