Job description

Responsibilities

Join Our Exceptional Team at George Washington University Hospital

Join a 52-bed Level I Trauma Center within a leading academic hospital where nurses are empowered to grow, lead, and redefine what nursing can be.

Our Emergency Department provides care to a primarily adult patient population, with approximately 23% of our patients age 65 and older. We are a Joint Commission-certified Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and hold Bronze-level Geriatric Accreditation, reflecting our commitment to delivering specialized, high-quality care to complex patient populations.

We are dedicated to redefining nursing through education, professional development, clinical excellence, and a culture that values every member of the team. Our dedicated ED Educator leads a structured orientation program based on the TSAM model, providing nurses with the support, education, and clinical experiences needed to build confidence and competence. Our partnership with Trauma Services further strengthens clinical development, with nurses progressing to trauma assignments as they demonstrate clinical readiness.

At the heart of our department is a culture where patients come first, accountability matters, and professionalism is expected and valued. We believe exceptional patient care starts with a team that takes ownership of its practice, supports one another, communicates openly, and holds itself to a high standard.

We are looking for nurses who are not only clinically driven, but who take pride in doing the right things for every patient, every time. Our nurses are empowered to speak up, take ownership, pursue growth, and contribute to a culture where excellence is a shared responsibility.

If you are looking for an Emergency Department where you can build expertise, be challenged to grow, and be a part of a team committed to redefining nursing, we invite you to join us.
