Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina's Brain Stimulation Services seeks an ECT Nurse to coordinate and provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing ECT, from pre-procedure assessment through post-anesthesia recovery.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered treatment delivery while maintaining regulatory and organizational standards; a BSN is preferred and an RN with a current

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred; RN with Associate or Diploma must enroll in BSN within two years and complete within four years.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience.
• Licensure as an RN by SC Board of Nursing or compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide comprehensive nursing care for ECT patients across the continuum of care.
• Conduct pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedural support, and post-anesthesia recovery monitoring.
• Educate patients and families, monitor treatment response and side effects.
• Support quality and safety initiatives and assist with scheduling and care coordination.
