Overview

The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing. The patient population consists of individuals with neck, back, or spine-related diagnoses.

Qualifications

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Education: H.S. Diploma/GED; Associate's Degree. Work Experience:

Responsibilities

  • Provides and facilitates competent healthcare of patients and families in the area of practice.
  • Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  • Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
  • Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
  • Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
  • Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
  • Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
  • Triage patient phone calls.
  • Assist in procedures in the Injection Suite.
  • Start IVs.
  • MRI and Injection screenings.
  • Patient education for surgeries and injections.
  • Remove staples or stitches.
  • Assist MDs with office procedures.
  • Surgery scheduling.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $29 per hour - $49.88 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting.
