Job summary

Carle Health in Champaign, IL seeks an Ambulatory Nurse to join Convenient Care. This part-time role requires day shifts, two 12-hour shifts weekly (8a-8:30p), with weekend every other or flex and no on-call.

You will provide nursing assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care, document thoroughly, educate patients, mentor staff, and support clinical quality initiatives, including medication administration and procedures under physician supervision.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
  • College Diploma in Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and facilitates competent health care for patients and families.
  • Ensures complete and accurate documentation of care.
  • Educates patients on health and wellness.
  • Acts as preceptor and supports development of staff and students.
  • Leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance care outcomes.

Overview

The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities
  • Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  • Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
  • Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
  • Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
  • Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
  • Administers medication (IM, PO, Rectal, IV, SQ and Inhaled). Perform the following procedures: Ear washes, Nebulizer Treatments, Peak Flows, Splint Applications, Crutch Training, and Wound Care, Point of Care Testing, IV starts and therapy, Vision Screenings, EKG, Catheterizations and Suture/Staple removal. Assist providers with procedures such as vaginal exams, suture and staple placement, and incision and drainage. Member of the Code Team. Resource Nurse for his/her shifts. Serve as preceptor for new employees. Telephone triage and work in basket. Rooming patients which includes obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, chief complaint ect. Performs patient education

  • Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $34.02per hour - $55.36per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
