Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager or designee, coordinates total nursing care for patients. Participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to meet physical and emotional needs.
  2. Establishes communication and utilizes teaching opportunities to address the learning needs of patients and their significant others.
  3. Provides age-appropriate care with knowledge and skills tailored to the patient’s age group.
  4. Collaborates with physicians regarding patient condition, treatment plans, and needs to ensure quality care.
  5. Leads and supervises LPNs, Nurse Aides, and Secretaries to promote team collaboration and quality care.
  6. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
  7. Maintains competencies specific to the department and unit for patient care.
  8. Practices Service Excellence aligning with the organization’s mission, vision, and values to enhance patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Licensed by the Ohio Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • BCLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide age-specific care and assess patient data reflecting growth and development
  • Ability to interpret information to meet patient needs based on age and policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of hospital nursing experience
  • ACLS certification
Physical Demands

This role involves a full range of motion activities including walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, and standing. Corrected vision and hearing are required, and excellent verbal communication skills are essential. This position is classified as at risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
