Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking a behavioral health nurse to lead patient care for individuals with depression, bipolar disorder, and social phobias. You’ll coordinate, prioritize, and delegate care touchpoints, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will maintain a safe environment, monitor patient and family questions, provide education, and advocate for seamless, high-quality care across the continuum. Nights shift in the United States.

Qualifications

• Nursing license valid in Louisiana.
• BSN degree required and enrollment in BSN program with timeline.
• AHA BLS certificate current.
• CPI level 1 current.
• PALS certification (CHNOLA only).
• 1 year minimum experience; 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure direct patient care.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team on events or questions.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, and exceptional patient experience.
• Advise supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Education

BSN degree

Louisiana nursing license

BLS certification (AHA)

CPI level 1

PALS certification (CHNOLA only)

1 year clinical experience

2 years in related clinical area (preferred)

Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.

Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.

Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.

Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Enrollment in a BSN program within the first year of hire and completion within 3 years.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current CPI (level 1).
• Current PALs certification (CHNOLA only).
• BSN degree.
• Previous clinical experience in area of expertise.
• Minimum required: 1 year for a flex RN position.
• Preferred: 2 years in a related clinical area.
