Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a part-time Night Shift Registered Nurse to join our team. You will assess patients across multiple domains, develop care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families on health conditions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with medical staff, adherence to standards of care, and ongoing patient education while ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes. BLS and RN licensure are required; an acute care background is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required.
• Associates of Nursing required; Bachelors preferred.
• 1+ year in acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients across multiple domains (physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle).
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Coordinate care with medical staff and ancillary departments to ensure effective teamwork.

Job Description:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Ability to work as a Team player within a unit
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
• EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)

• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]
