Job summary

Humboldt Park Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health to work FT days from 7am to 7pm with rotating weekends. Competitive shift differentials are available.

Responsibilities include planning, providing, supervising and documenting nursing care per physician orders, collaborating with the care team, and recording observations in the EHR. Primary duties cover unit-specific patient care, supervising staff, and blood collection as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates or better in Nursing.
• RN license required.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention certification.
• BLS - Basic Life Support certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, provides, supervises and documents professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
• Communicates and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
• Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
• Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit.
• Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
• Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
• Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, infection control and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
• Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.
• Operates equipment that is needed to perform department-specific duties.
