Job summary

ATC Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a Behavioral Health crisis center in Griffin, Georgia. This full-time, permanent role involves delivering high-quality patient care, assessing conditions, and coordinating with the team across rotating 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts.

Qualifications

• Current State Specific REGISTERED NURSE (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification (can be obtained during orientation)
• Minimum of one year paid RN work experience within the past year of direct patient care in a similar setting

Responsibilities

• Possess specialized knowledge and skills for the care of adult or geriatric patients experiencing mental health disorders.
• Apply specialized nursing knowledge in assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient responses to complex conditions, therapies, and interventions.
• Initiate nursing care, health teaching, and counseling to support life and restore well-being, following nurse practice act guidelines and under appropriate supervision.
• Comply with ATC and client facility policies and procedures.
• Conduct individualized patient assessments, prioritize data collection based on individual needs, and perform ongoing assessments as dictated by patient condition.
• Collaborate with the team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer treatments and therapies as ordered by physicians in a timely manner.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Document patient assessments, findings, and responses to interventions.
• Initiate emergency measures as needed, following protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Deliver patient care with cultural sensitivity and age-appropriateness, preserving autonomy, rights, and dignity.
• Advocate for patient rights regarding advance directives and organ donation.
• Report patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift, as needed.
• Maintain competency in psychiatric or mental health care through continuing education.
• Comply with ethical conduct and professional Standards of Nursing Practice.
