Job summary

Marymount Hospital (Cleveland Clinic) is seeking a qualified RN to join the Adult Behavioral Health team in Garfield Heights. You will provide direct nursing care, implement care plans, monitor patients, coordinate discharges and educate patients and families to support recovery. The role requires an ADN or BSN, RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of acute care RN experience. BSN preferred.

Schedule is days 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
  • 1 year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate and revise plans of care to achieve outcomes.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and families with materials considering cultural issues.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocol.

Marymount Hospital’s Adult Behavioral Health Center offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency programs. Some of the services provided include inpatient care, medication management, structured therapeutic programming, scheduled recreational activities, nutrition and medication management, and access to community resources for ongoing support. This team works collaboratively to foster a safe, team-oriented environment.

As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • One-year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Will consider licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
  • Minimum hourly: $35.50
  • Maximum hourly: $55.60
