Job summary

Boys Town in Omaha, NE seeks a Registered Nurse Bed Planner to optimize bed utilization and patient movement across Med-Surg, PICU, and Surgery Support. The role combines clinical patient care with operational coordination in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will be cross-trained in pre-admissions and registration to support seamless transitions, with a schedule of 7:00 PM–5:30 AM, 20 hours per week (.5 FTE). A $5,000 signing bonus is offered to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with a BSN and state license
• Minimum 5 years hospital experience
• CPR, ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment
• Computer and EMR literacy required

Responsibilities

• Assess bed availability and assign beds to optimize patient flow
• Prepare daily schedules for Surgery Center staff and nursing assignments
• Collaborate with environmental services for bed/room cleaning prioritization
• Coordinate with unit charge nurses across PICU, Med-Surg, and Surgery Center to support patient care assignments
• Maintain Joint Commission readiness and assist in unit responsibilities for inspections
• Serve as a bed management resource for staff and physicians
