Assistant Nurse Manager - McGrath Outpatient Pavilion (Procedural Suite & OR)
We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Procedural Suite and Operating Room (OR) teams within the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of surgical services, while upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
The Assistant Manager supports the efficient daily operations of the surgical department by overseeing staff coordination, resource management, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They assist the Operating Room Manager in scheduling, inventory control, and workflow optimization to ensure seamless patient care and timely surgical procedures. This role involves close collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a sterile, safe, and well-organized operating environment.
The Assistant Manager helps train and mentor surgical staff, monitors performance metrics, and addresses any operational challenges promptly. Strong leadership, communication skills, and a thorough understanding of surgical protocols are essential to effectively support the team and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and service quality.
This Assistant Nurse Manager will also oversee and assist in providing pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care to outpatients undergoing special procedures. Have knowledge and skills in performs moderate sedation under the direction of the physician. Identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations. Directs, advocates, and acts as resource to other members of the nursing and tech team and performs other duties as needed. Promotes compliance and support for policies and participates in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
This Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing of all staff caring procedure suite patients. This includes pain procedures, OB/GYN procedures, IR procedures and future services potentially added to the procedure suite. Minimal support to GI may be needed as well. The Assistant Nurse Manager will need moderate sedation certification and will be responsible for assisting with multi-phase care of procedure suite patients when needed.
