Job summary

Kettering Health Troy is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Clinical Nurse Manager in coordinating nursing care and unit activities. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and staff development, with a focus on after-hours coverage.

Ideal candidates have a BSN, Ohio RN license, and at least three years of clinical nursing experience, plus ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC per unit requirement. Strong leadership and communication are essential to patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing within 3 years of employment.
  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Primarily pm and night shifts; 50% after 7:00 pm and before 7:00 am.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC per unit requirement.
  • Demonstrates leadership and teaching abilities.
  • Professional and ethical behavior; teamwork mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Clinical Nurse Manager in planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting unit activities and hospital programs.
  • Provides assessment of educational needs and facilitates unit compliance.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for staff regarding patient care standards.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, staff, managers, and physicians.
  • Supports QA/PI initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensures safety and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Provides assessment of educational needs and facilitation of unit compliance. Assists Clinical Nurse Manager in identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of unit activities, projects, and hospital wide programs. The Assistant Nurse Manager reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required within 3 years of employment
  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Primarily pm and night shifts. A minimum of 50% of time must be after 7:00 pm and before 7:00 am
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC per unit requirement
  • Demonstrates leadership and teaching abilities
  • Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior
  • Must be passionate about nursing and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications

Employee will be required to work three charge shifts per month
