UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks an RN to serve as Assistant Nurse Manager for the Acute Trauma Recovery Unit. The role directs nursing service activities for a shift and supports the Nurse Manager in coordinating patient care and staff performance.
The position requires an Associate's degree in Nursing with 18 months of related experience, an active RN license in Alabama, and BLS. ACLS is required within 6 months, with PALS possibly needed within 6 months depending on unit needs.

To work with nursing leadership to direct nursing service activities in the assigned care unit for the duration of one shift and/or in the absence of the Nurse Manager. To provide professional nursing care for patients in assigned care unit. To support nursing leadership in the coordination of patient care, personnel management, physician/interdisciplinary collaboration and general administrative duties.
Associate's degree in Nursing with Eighteen (18) months of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. If job is in a free-standing emergency department (FSED) location, one (1) year of experience must be emergency or ICU nursing experience. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA is required within six (6) months from date of hire to role. Depending on the unit/department, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA, or other comparable certification as appropriate for the age of patients to be treated, may be required within six (6) months from date of hire to role.
Pay range: $36.80 - $53.00 / hour
Shifts: full-time
Schedules: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
