Job summary

Ascension's Seton Medical Center Austin is seeking a Nurse Manager for Med Surg in Austin, TX. This full-time, evening-shift position leads daily operations, optimizes workflows, and directs a skilled clinical team in high-acuity areas.

You will oversee staffing, recruitment, onboarding, evaluations and mentoring while driving quality improvement, policy updates, and patient access management to ensure seamless care delivery. The role requires valid Texas RN licensure and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Texas RN license and be credentialed before hire date.
• Leadership experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
• ACLS or BLS certification within 30 days of hire will be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations and workflows across high-acuity specialty departments.
• Oversee patient access and evaluate unit workflows to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Delegate duties based on staff competencies while monitoring clinical proficiency.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives, audits, and policy updates with leadership.
• Drive full lifecycle staff development including recruitment, onboarding, evaluations, and mentoring.
