Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, assist in supervising nursing services and setting standards of care to ensure residents receive comprehensive care addressing their medical, physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Fulfill policies and objectives to ensure quality nursing care as set by the Administrator and facility standards. Support and practice the philosophy, objectives, and standards of Caraday Healthcare and the Nursing Department, revising them as necessary to maintain quality of care.

Essential Functions
  1. Complete the Daily List daily.
  2. Review all new admissions for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Make rounds on residents daily.
  4. Coach and mentor licensed nurses under your charge.
  5. Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct infection prevention and control programs in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  6. Answer call lights promptly.
  7. Attend to residents' comforts and needs, responding to requests quickly.
  8. Lift, move, and transfer residents as needed.
  9. Ensure equipment is used safely; report any repairs immediately.
  10. Participate in emergency drills and scheduled in-service training.
  11. Maintain regular attendance according to policies.
  12. Adhere to workplace behavior and dress code.
  13. Complete training and attend scheduled classes.
  14. Communicate tactfully and appropriately in sensitive situations.
  15. Promote positive relations with residents, families, and guests.
  16. Assist in staffing schedule preparation and posting to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  17. Support attending physicians with nursing personnel.
  18. Understand and uphold Residents' Rights and resident safety.
Requirements
Qualifications

Required:

  • Current RN license.
  • CPR certification (training will be provided within 30 days if not already certified).
  • Ability to understand, remember, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Clear communication skills with residents and team members.
  • Ability to complete assignments amid interruptions.

Preferred:

  • Two years of nursing experience in long-term or skilled nursing care.
Physical Requirements

Ability to perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and reaching, with or without accommodations.

Work Schedule

As assigned, may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.

Work Environment

Clinical setting.
