Job summary

Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center in Indiana is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the daily functions of the nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care.

You will help develop policies, supervise staff, ensure compliance with regulations, and participate in surveys, discharge planning, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must have, as a minimum, 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
• Must have, as a minimum of 6 months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
• Ensure reference material at the nurse's station is current and provide recommendations to meet residents’ needs.
• Develop and periodically update nursing service objectives and statements of philosophy.
• Assist in developing and implementing a nursing organization structure and staffing plans.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of the residents’ total care plan.
• Ensure nurses and CNAs are following job descriptions and participate in updating them as required by law.
• Participate in facility surveys and assist in discharge planning related to nursing care.
