Job summary

Majestic Care of Goshen is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing, RN to lead nursing operations and support the DNS in a high-quality long-term care setting.

The role requires an active Indiana RN license, 3+ years of nursing and 1+ year supervisory experience, and CPR within 30 days. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, performance reviews, care planning, rounds, QA, infection control, and staff coordination.

Qualifications

• Current RN license by State Board of Nursing in Indiana; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Experience in the long-term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
• Must have at least three years nursing experience and one year supervisory experience.
• Must hold an active CPR or ability to obtain within the first 30-days of hire; CPR must remain active and current throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interviewing applicants and recommend hiring of staff and scheduling.
• Participate in orientation and in-service education training.
• Participate in performance reviews and personnel files; enforce the personnel policies of the community, including disciplining and terminating care team members.
• Assist DNS in ensuring compliance with regulations for documentation from physicians and nursing personnel and ensuring that all regional policies/procedures are implemented.
• Assist with care planning process.
• Make rounds daily to direct the work of care team members and to observe for hazards, work duty problems, and ensure services are delivered to clients consistent with needs.
• Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement and corrective follow-up actions.
• Follow up daily on each unit to ensure changes in status are reported and recorded and that services are provided.
• Under the direction of the DNS, complete chart audits and report results and progress, and makes recommendations for improvement to the DNS.
• Ensure proper infection control techniques are utilized.
• Maintain effective communication with families, residents and community staff.
