The Assistant Director provides nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Assists in directing and supervising all functions and activities in a patient care setting. Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed. Responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate personnel and for consistently setting and evaluating performance. Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in assigning employee labor. Is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
Insures that MedSurg Unit II is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
