Meritus Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Assistant Clinical Manager in the Emergency Department at Meritus Medical Center in Maryland. This leadership role oversees daily ED operations, guides off-shift leadership, and drives quality improvement and patient-centered care.

The position requires a BSN and a minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience (5 years preferred), with Maryland RN licensure and BLS.

RN - Assistant Clinical Manager - Emergency Department

Full Time - 72 hrs. Biweekly

Four 9 hr. Shifts/ week between the hours of 11a-11:30p

Meritus Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Assistant Clinical Manager in our fast-paced Emergency Department. This leadership role is ideal for a nurse with proven clinical expertise and strong leadership skills, ready to take the next step in their career.

As the Assistant Clinical Manager, you will support the Clinical Manager in overseeing daily ED operations, lead independently during off-shifts, and contribute directly to quality improvement, staff engagement, and patient-centered care delivery. You’ll play a vital role in guiding the team toward achieving department and organizational goals—ensuring excellence in care and service.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience required, 5 years preferred
• Prior leadership experience preferred (e.g., educator, committee chair, charge/resource nurse)

Licensure & Certifications:

• Current Maryland RN license or a Multi-State Compact RN license (with Maryland eligibility) – Required
• BLS (CPR) – Required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, or other unit-required certifications – Must be obtained within 6 months of start
• Professional specialty certification – Preferred

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced computer applications
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient advocacy, and cost-effective care
