Ideal candidates hold an RN license with BSN preferred, 2–4 years in psychiatric nursing, and 1–2 years in supervisory/intake roles, plus current BLS/CPR and CPI certifications.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
• BSN preferred.
• 2–4 years psychiatric nursing experience with 1–2 years in supervisory/intake roles.
• Current BLS/CPR and CPI certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Admissions: oversee evaluation of incoming patients for appropriate placement.
• Crisis De-escalation: manage high-risk situations in intake lobby.
• Medical Screening Oversight: ensure thorough initial physical assessment.
• Staff Management: schedule, train, and evaluate intake RNs and coordinators.
• Utilization Review & Bed Management: coordinate authorizations and transfers.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure compliance with 5150 holds and Joint Commission standards.
