Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is seeking an experienced RN in the Hematology & Medical Oncology department to deliver compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support diagnostics and therapies.

You will perform assessments, participate in care planning, coordinate discharges, and educate patients and families. The shift is 7:00am–3:00pm with on-call requirements; BSN/ADN and active RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• BLS certification through AHA.
• ACLS certification within 6 months for areas with moderate sedation.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• LPN with 2 years in the same department may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services.
• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
• Administer treatments and medications.
• Establish care plans with patients, families and the health care team.
• Coordinate ongoing care and discharge planning.
• Evaluate and maintain standards of care.
• Educate patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles in the department.

The Department of Hematology & Medical Oncology is comprised of physicians, nurses, researchers, advanced practice providers (APP) and other healthcare professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cancers or disorders of the blood. Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
• Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
• Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
• Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
• Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
• Educate patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles in the department.

Shift: 7:00am—3:00pm with on‑call requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• In areas performing moderate sedation procedures must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within 6 months of hire.
• One year of recent experience as an RN
• Offset: Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing)
• Two years of recent experience as an RN

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
• Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
